WHO WE ARE
Imagine you are living in a place where the electricity grid does not reach – even charging your cell phone requires walking to the store or investing in a solar system that you have to install and maintain in your house. Now imagine if there was an alternative: a local energy utility who will sell you power – just like the national grid! – but fueled almost entirely by energy from the sun.
STG is a dynamic and motivated group of individuals who are driven by the idea that everyone, everywhere should have the opportunity to improve their quality of life in the ways that only energy access can provide and committed to the goal of making this a reality without requiring further growth in fossil fuel consumption.

Background
During his Peace Corps duty in Lesotho, STG President Matt Orosz experienced first-hand what it is like to live in a rural mountain village with no electricity or running water.  See how STG grew from there.
