Partners
Our work in Lesotho is conducted in cooperation with the following community partners:
Appropriate Technology Services (ATS)
STG has been working with ATS in varying capacities since 2005. ATS engineers participated in the construction and installation of the field prototypes funded by the World Bank DM Grant, through an "attachment" (professional internship) of several months in Phamong. ATS is currently cost-sharing and heading up construction of the parabolic trough units for the prototype to be installed at a Maseru-area health care center. ATS also serves as the main point-of-contact within Lesotho regarding this project. For more information on this joint project, see here (requires Adobe Acrobat).

National University of Lesotho (NUL)
Senior Lecturer in Physics, Dr. Ben Taele, has been working to find renewable energy technologies appropriate for the climate (and market) of Lesotho. STG has recently partnered with his department to facilitate both educational goals of the department and monitoring requirements of future pilot installations. Dr. Taele's team will be primarily involved with data collection (testing, monitoring) and analysis, and it is our hope that this will serve as an educational tool as well as to provide important data about the long-term functioning of our microgenerator systems.

Bethel Business and Community Development Centre (BBCDC)
As a vocational school and community development centre, BBCDC has been focusing on the use of solar energy for over 10 years. BBCDC served as the base of operations for implementation of the World Bank project, providing workshop space and access to installation sites.

Our work is supported by a solar ORC test facility in the USA at Eckerd College in cooperation with:
Eckerd College
Is a private 4-year coeducational liberal arts college at the southernmost tip of St. Petersburg, Florida, in the Tampa Bay metropolitan area. Eckerd challenges students to think outside conventional questions, methods, and solutions, seeking to build a better world. Eckerd has hosted STG's test solar ORC facility since 2010 as a platform for sustainable energy generation and education.

Sopogy
Sopogy is an innovator in micro CSP (Concentrated Solar Power) Solutions. In 2010 Sopogy donated a collector array of 100 square meters using their SopoNova technology to form the basis of STG's solar ORC test facility at Eckerd College. The system provides over 40kW of heat to run ORC test programs.
